Canvassing

Updated 10.31.18

There’s just one weekend left before election day, and it’s all hands on deck! We’re canvassing in southern Wake County (Cary/Apex/Holly Springs) all weekend. There are a lot of doors to knock, and it will take a lot of canvassers to make it happen!

We’ll also have canvassing opportunities for folks who have time Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 5th and 6th). If you have any time to spare, please sign up here!

During these final canvasses, we’ll be getting out the vote in two very flippable NC House districts: NC-H36 and NC-H37. We’ll be talking with left-leaning voters who don’t typically vote in midterm elections about what’s on the ballot and why their vote is critical. In addition to talking with voters about the candidates for NC House and NC Senate, we’ll be urging them to vote for NC Supreme Court candidate Anita Earls and against all six constitutional amendments.

Canvassing is, by far, the most effective voter outreach method. Among our target voters in Wake County, those we’ve canvassed so far were 2.25 times more likely to vote in the 2018 Democratic primaries than those we have not yet reached.

Plus, we make it fun! Every canvass is designed to help new canvassers feel as comfortable and prepared as possible, and they all end with drinks and pizza!

On Saturday, canvass at 10:30 or 2pm. On Sunday, canvass at 12:30pm or 2pm. Come both days if you can! Any time you can contribute helps. A volunteer will be on site all day to hand out materials, provide training, and answer any questions you may have.
