Meet the Team
FLIP NC is an all-volunteer grassroots organization run by a group of committed volunteers working to make a difference in North Carolina.
Amy Cox
Amy is Co-founder of FLIP NC and one half of our Data Analytics Team.
Amy has a passion for making data accessible and actionable. By day, she’s an analytic consultant working with education leaders across the country to make strategic, evidence-based resource-allocation decisions that improve equitable access and outcomes for students.
Briana Brough
Briana is Co-founder of FLIP NC.
After a year of leading grassroots organizing for FLIP NC, Briana left her 15-year career as a photographer to work full-time in progressive grassroots organizing. She is currently the Digital Organizing Director at Progress NC. FLIP NC now enjoys the near-exclusive benefits of Briana’s skills as a former professional photographer.
Andrea Cash
Andrea is Director of Communications for FLIP NC.
An expert in content strategy and creation, branding, social media, and video and event production, Andrea runs FLIP NC’s social media platforms, tells stories about our army of volunteers (including FLIP NC’s popular Meet a FLIPster series), leads event planning, emcees events, and moderates conversations through video interviews. A former magazine editor, she now runs her own creative services company, Andrea Cash Creative.
Pat Bayer
Pat is the other half of FLIP NC’s Data Analytics Team, and he also manages FLIP’s voter outreach database.
Pat is a Professor of Economics at Duke University, which UNC alums Amy and Briana try not to hold against him. Pat studies a wide range of topics, including racial inequality and segregation, education, and criminal justice.
Super Volunteers
Super Volunteers get the work done! So many amazing volunteers have shown up to canvass, phone bank, and text bank time and again, participated in planning meetings, printed materials, distributed yard signs, and pitched in to ensure that events run smoothly. Join us at an upcoming event!
