Court Canvassing – with FLIP NC!
This page will help prepare you for court-focused canvassing with FLIP NC in 4 easy steps.
STEP 1: Understand what is happening with our state courts
In 2022, Republicans swept NC’s statewide court races. Republicans now hold large majorities on both our State Supreme Court and our Court of Appeals.
The new, far-right Republican majority on the court is shirking its responsibility to the people of North Carolina, enacting an extreme, right-wing agenda with no regard for the law. But we have an opportunity to take back our state courts by 2028 – before new maps are drawn for the next decade. This is our one big shot at fair maps and, ultimately, a legislature that truly represents the will of the people.
STEP 2: Download the Minivan App
Before the canvass, please download the MiniVAN app for iPhone/iPad or Android to your phone or tablet. The app is very intuitive, but if you'd like, you can watch our video tutorial here (note that the screen has changed a bit since we made this video). Remember to charge your phone or tablet before the canvass!
