FLIP NC is a Durham-based all-volunteer grassroots group. For the 2018 elections, we knocked 20,000 doors and sent 250,000 text messages to left-leaning voters in flippable NC House and NC Senate districts in North Carolina. These efforts increased left-leaning turnout in a number of key areas and were likely critical to flipping at least three legislative seats in 2018.

With a total 2018 budget of just under $40,000, FLIP NC’s cost per new voter is unmatched, thanks to both a well-targeted voter outreach model and an incredible network of outstanding volunteers.

The majority of FLIP NC’s 2018 budget was funded by a combination of one-time and recurring small donations. The FLIP NC 2018 Budget pie provides an overview of how those funds were spent.

Being a volunteer-powered organization means we don’t have a dedicated team of fundraisers. But it also means your donation goes a long way to reaching voters – and the more funds we can raise, the more voters we can reach.
