Introducing: Lit Drop!
About our lit drop program
Get your steps in without knocking doors – just leave lit at voters’ doors whenever it’s convenient for you!
You can leave lit (our flyer about the extreme right-wing takeover of our NC courts and the awesome Democratic candidates running for statewide judicial races this year) at left-leaning voters’ doors anywhere in North Carolina.
Just leaving lit at doors, even if we don’t talk with anyone, helps increase turnout among left-leaning voters. Our lit sheets also draw attention to critical races that many voters skip. In 2020, the number of voters who turned out but didn’t vote in the statewide judicial races was greater than the vote margin in EVERY ONE of those contests, so it’s critical that we let voters know about these elections and why they matter.
Here’s how it works.
Sign up to drop lit wherever you are in NC, and we will find a walkable area near you that maximizes left-leaning voters.
Download the MiniVAN app for iPhone/iPad or Android and create an Action ID.
We’ll send you a list number to enter into the MiniVAN app. This will give you a map and voter list of which doors to hit based on targeted voter data.
You’ll get one turf to start unless you request more. Each turf takes about an hour.
Pick up your lit, or we’ll mail it to you. If you’re in the Triangle (Durham, Raleigh, Holly Springs, Apex, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, or Carrboro), Triad (Greensboro or Winston-Salem), Charlotte Metro (Charlotte, Huntersville, Davidson), or Wilmington areas, we have porch pick-up locations near you. If you live in another area, we will mail the materials to you.
Leave lit at the doors on your list at your convenience. You can roll it up and slide it through the door handle or leave it under the mat. Just don’t leave it in the mailbox – that’s not legal!
Be sure to mark the doors off in the app as you go so we know which voters have received lit and which haven’t.
Let us know if and when you’re ready for another round! If you’d like to drop lit regularly, we can provide multiple list numbers and stacks of lit at once.
