Meet Adam Ericson!
Democratic Candidate for NC House District 20 (New Hanover County)
Adam Ericson, public school teacher, coach, and dad, is running to flip this district blue in November. His top priorities are to increase education funding and ensure that all North Carolinians have access to affordable health care, safe drinking water, and an honest government that is looking out for them.
I am running for office because I can no longer sit on the sidelines and watch this great state be dismantled by a Republican majority corrupted with power, pursuing an extreme agenda that only works for corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
-Adam Ericson, Democratic candidate for NC-H20
Flipping this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.
About NC House District 20
This district was redrawn by court order after the last election to correct Republicans’ unconstitutional gerrymandering. Gov. Cooper lost the newly constituted district by just 5 points in 2016, and the NC House race was just as close in 2018. The pool of left-leaning voters who stayed home in 2018 in this district are 14 points more left-leaning than the folks who voted, and 2020 Democratic primary turnout in New Hanover County was up 30% over 2016! This district is flippable if enough left-leaning voters cast their ballots in November.
