Meet Sydney Batch!

Democratic Representative for NC House District 37 (Wake County)

Sydney Batch is a lawyer, social worker, and child welfare advocate who grew up in North Carolina. She flipped this seat from red to blue for the first time in 2018 and is now working to increase funding for public schools, protect the environment and hold polluting companies accountable, reduce health insurance costs, and increase the minimum wage.

As a child welfare advocate, I’ve seen the ways in which poverty, hunger, and homelessness can affect children and families long-term. With the well-being of NC families in mind, I will continue to fight for policies that boost the economy, help put food on the table, and alleviate people from undue burden.

Protecting this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.

About NC House District 37

Wake County has been trending increasingly blue over each of the past several election cycles. Rep. Sydney Batch flipped this district from red to blue for the first time in 2018 in a super close race. This district was redrawn after the last election and is now slightly more right-leaning, so every vote is critical to holding this seat!
