Meet Scott Brewer!

Democratic Representative for NC House District 66

(Montgomery, Richmond, and Stanley Counties)

Scott Brewer is small business owner and former Prosecutor and District Court Judge who was appointed to the seat when the long-time NC House representative retired from the position. His top priorities are to increase funding for public schools, expand Medicaid, invest in new infrastructure – including broadband internet access in rural communities – make government more transparent, and protect the environment.

We need to meet our school infrastructure needs, to pay our teachers at least the national average, to provide health coverage to those in need, and pursue policies that unite us, not divide us. I want us to lead again. That’s the Promise of North Carolina.

Protecting this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.

About NC House District 66

This right-leaning district is, by far, the most challenging district for Democrats to hold in 2020. Longtime Democratic incumbent Ken Goodman won the previous 5 elections here, but he resigned the seat upon his appointment to the NC Industrial Commission. The good news is that Goodman’s replacement, former NC District Court Judge Scott Brewer, is a strong candidate facing a weak Republican challenger.
