Meet Brian Farkas!

Democratic Candidate for NC House District 9 (Pitt County)

Brian Farkas, a Pitt County native with a strong history of public service, is running to flip this district blue in November. His top priorities are to increase education funding and teacher pay, expand Medicaid and access to affordable health care, increase good jobs for working families, and ensure clean air and water for all North Carolinians.

I'm running because my hometown, Pitt County, and Eastern NC aren't getting the representation we deserve. The Raleigh establishment refuses to build bipartisan consensus or even come to the table to negotiate. It's time for new leadership.

Holding this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in our state legislature so we can fight for fair voting maps in 2021, finally expand medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, increase support for public education, and stop greedy corporations from polluting our air and water.

About NC House District 9

This district was redrawn by court order after the last election to remove the unfair advantage Republicans gave themselves in drawing the maps. Formerly drawn – for most of the past decade – as a safe seat for Republicans, this district is now super competitive!
