Meet Christy Clark!

Democratic Representative for NC House District 98 (Mecklenburg County)

Christy Clark is a paralegal, longtime community advocate, and mother of five who flipped this seat from red to blue in 2018. Her top priorities are to increase funding for public schools; advocate for all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity; protect women’s reproductive rights; and expand Medicaid.

I’m committed to working for the best interests of District 98. I want to build a North Carolina where my children, neighbors, friends, and family can thrive.

Protecting this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.

About NC House District 98

Democrat Rep. Christy Clark flipped this district from red to blue for the first time in 2018, winning by just one percent of the vote. The new maps in place for 2020 make NC-H98 slightly more favorable for Democrats, but it remains very competitive. The good news is that suburban Mecklenburg county has been trending increasingly Democratic over the past several election cycles, and Democrats can hold this seat if enough left-leaning voters turn out – and vote the full ballot.
