Meet Allen Wellons!
Democratic Candidate for NC Senate District 11
(Johnston and Nash)
Allen Wellons, a family farm manager, attorney, former state senator, and life-long Johnstonian, is running to flip this seat blue in November. His top priorities are to lead a strong state-level response to the Covid-19 pandemic; reform the NC criminal justice system; invest in communities, infrastructure, and public schools; and expand access to affordable healthcare.
We need a North Carolina that will look to the future with hope and promise. That’s what this campaign for North Carolina Senate is all about.
-Allen Wellons, Democratic candidate for NC-S11
FLIPPING this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.
About NC Senate District 11
This district was redrawn after the last election and is now 4 points more favorable for Democrats. While the 2018 NC Senate and NC House races in these counties were not especially competitive, Gov. Cooper’s 6-point loss in the district in 2016 provides hope that we can flip this district blue in 2020.
