Meet JD Wooten!
Democratic Candidate for NC Senate District 24
(Alamance and Guilford)
JD Wooten, an intellectual property attorney and former U.S. Air Force officer and engineer, is running to flip this district blue in November. His top priorities are to increase funding for public schools, expanding access to affordable healthcare, and promote sustainable economic development in NC.
Our healthcare policy, our education policy, our business development and economic recovery policy, all have to mesh together to make North Carolina a better place for everyone.
-JD Wooten, Democratic candidate for NC-S24
FLIPPING this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.
About NC Senate District 24
2020 Democratic primary turnout was up 27% in Alamance County and 21% in Guilford County compared with 2016, indicating that this district could be flipped by a blue wave in 2020. The district also overlaps with two very competitive NC House districts – NC-H59 and NC-H63 – that can help drive turnout and down-ballot voting in the district. We can flip this district blue if enough left-leaning voters vote – and vote the full ballot – in 2020!
