Meet Donna Lake!

Democratic Candidate for NC Senate District 7

(Johnston and Nash)

Donna Lake, a retired Air Force Colonel, healthcare professional, educator, and mother of two, is running to flip this seat blue in November. Her top priorities are to increase funding for public schools, create a more transparent and accessible healthcare system, plan and build communities that are strong and resilient, and take care of military families.

The struggles this district faces can be traced directly to Raleigh - where some of our elected leaders show us in their actions that they only serve themselves, their party, and their biggest donors. I'm running for the State Senate because I have the skills needed to make successful changes to our education, healthcare and economic systems. When I'm elected, I won't leave local families behind.

FLIPPING this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.

About NC Senate District 7

While this district has typically elected Republicans, the pool of registered voters who stayed home in 2018 is solidly left-leaning. With high enough left-leaning turnout, this district could flip from red to blue!
