Harper Peterson, a longtime Wilmington public servant and community leader, is working to make lives better for North Carolinians and keep this seat blue in November. His top priorities are to ensure access to clean, safe drinking water; invest in public education; expand access to affordable health care; and create good new jobs in New Hanover County.

Protecting this seat is essential to shifting the balance of power in Raleigh so we can have a legislature that works for everyday North Carolinians by fully supporting public education, expanding Medicaid to reduce health care costs for everyone, and protecting our natural resources from greedy corporations.
About NC Senate District 9
The Democratic incumbent, Harper Peterson, flipped the district blue with less than 300 votes to spare in 2018. It was redrawn after the last election to be 2 points more favorable for Democrats but will still be super close in 2020, so every vote is critical.
