Yard Sign Placers

Update: Yard signs have now been placed in strategic locations across our target districts. A huge thank you to the drivers and sign places who have made this happen!

North Carolina volunteers, we need Yard Sign Placers to place yard signs in identified left-leaning neighborhoods for our Strategic Yard Sign Campaign!

We’ve identified target locations where there are high concentrations of left-leaning voters in competitive legislative districts. We need sign placers to place signs in our identified locations at the start of the early voting period (either the first day of early voting – Thursday, Oct. 15th – or the evening before).

Each "placer" will place signs at approximately 25 locations across their turf, clustered within 3-4 areas within a district. At each of the 25 locations, placers will post 4 signs that let voters know (i) early voting has started, (ii) the district is super competitive, (iii) to vote the full ballot, and (iv) the candidate's name.

Importantly, we are targeting specific precincts/locations with lots of left-leaning voters and avoiding GOP-leaning areas within each district to increase turnout/down-ballot voting/candidate name recognition among left-leaning voters specifically (versus driving general turnout or Republican turnout). Each volunteer will receive a turf map with GPS coordinates for the strategic locations. As mentioned above, the typical turf will include 25 locations, clustered in about 3-4 areas within the district, so it's about 100 signs in all. Given this number of locations, we expect placing the signs to take several hours.

Each placer will also need to remove the Early Voting signs on Sunday, November 1st and the remaining signs during the week after the election.

The turfs that we need to cover are in the following locations:

  • Boone (NC-H93, Ray Russell)

  • Winston-Salem (NC-S31, Terri LeGrand)

  • Winston-Salem (NC-H74, Dan Besse)

  • Greensboro (NC-H59, Nicole Quick)

  • Concord (NC-H83, Gail Young)

  • Kannapolis (NC-H82, Aimy Steele)

  • Greenville (NC-H9, Brian Farkas)

  • Fayetteville (NC-H43, Kimberly Hardy)

  • Fayetteville (NC-H45, Frances Jackson)

  • Bertie County (NC-H1, Emily Nicholson)

  • Hertford County (NC-H1, Emily Nicholson and NC-S1, Tess Judge)

  • Elizabeth City (NC-H1, Emily Nicholson and NC-S1, Tess Judge)

  • Edenton/Plymouth (NC-H1, Emily Nicholson and NC-S1, Tess Judge)
