How YOU Can Help Build the Blue Wave in 2026!

With less than a month to go until Election Day, here are the best ways you can help win critical races in North Carolina.

Since last summer, FLIP NC has been reaching left-leaning voters at their doors with information about the far-right takeover of our state courts and the importance of voting in our statewide judicial races this November. We ran our own canvasses and lit drop parties and partnered with groups around the state: Indivisible Charlotte, Indivisible Guilford County, Fair Forsyth, Bull City Indivisible, Indivisible Asheville, Indivisible Actions Southeast NC, Indivisible Orange County, Indivisible Gaston County, and Indivisible Wake County. A huge thank you to our partners for spreading the word about our critical state court races!

The type of voter outreach FLIP NC conducts and supports at voters’ doors is most effective well before election day. As election day approaches, it’s time to turn our attention to other GOTV (get-out-the-vote) efforts. Here are some ways you can help:

VOLUNTEER

Canvass for Our State Courts

Join Field Team Justice as an anytime canvasser for our state court races.

Early this year, the North Carolina Democratic Party launched Field Team Justice, a network of grassroots volunteers dedicated to electing Justice Anita Earls and our Democratic Court of Appeals candidates this year. This is an anytime/anywhere canvassing program you can join from your own neighborhood. Sign up here!

Support Competitive Legislative Districts

While we work to take back our state courts and get fair election maps, we must also keep up the fight to prevent Republicans from regaining a veto-proof supermajority in our state legislature. Join Team Up NC to support competitive legislative races or find candidates in competitive legislative districts to support directly.

Phone Bank to GOTV with Down Home and Carolina Federation

Down Home and Carolina Federation are outstanding organizations building grassroots power in North Carolina. Join them for their joint GOTV phonebanking program. Sign up here!

DONATE

Donate to FLIP NC!

We are still working to raise another $20,000 to fully fund our novel and highly effective text banking program.

In 2020 and 2024, this program cost about $100,000 to run and netted about 5,000 additional votes statewide for Democrats each cycle – even with turnout at a record high during these presidential years. That’s a mere $20 per added blue voter – a cost-per-vote amount that is second to none. We anticipate that we can have an even greater impact in a midterm election year, when turnout is typically 20 points lower than in a presidential election year.

Please consider making a donation to help close our budget gap and ensure we’re not leaving votes on the table!

Donate to Our Statewide Judicial Candidates

We love former Governor – and current U.S. Senate candidate – Roy Cooper, and all of the voter outreach we do to help turn out left-leaning voters will help win this critical seat. But if you want your donation to help statewide candidates in important races where you can have an impact, send those dollars to our statewide judicial candidates!

TALK TO YOUR PEOPLE

In a midterm election year, turnout is significantly lower than in a presidential election year. Folks who vote in presidential years but skip the midterms often don’t have as much information about why these races are important.

One of the most effective ways to turn out voters who might not otherwise vote is direct contact from someone they know. You can make a big difference by talking to your people about:

  • How and where to vote

  • The importance of voting the whole ballot

  • The photo ID requirement

  • The constitutional amendments (vote AGAINST!)

Some handy resources:

  • NC Voter Lookup Tool – Enter a name to view that person’s sample ballot and learn their Nov. 3 polling location

  • Early Voting Lookup – Find early voting locations by county. Remember, early voting runs from Oct. 15 to Oct. 31. Folks who aren’t registered can register AND vote during early voting only. On Election Day, you must already be registered to vote to cast a ballot.

  • You Can Vote Ballot Builder Research tool – Enter your address to access a tool that lets you research everything on your ballot.

  • You Can Vote Voter Guide – Great resource for questions about how to register and vote in North Carolina.

  • Carolina Forward Voter Guide – Includes recommendations from North Carolina’s progressive think tank for races at the state and local levels.
